Earthling Chant - A Spotify Song

Updated: Feb 7

Greetings reader, my last blog was more on the technical side of things, involving my Twitch endeavors and whatnot - (Emulator blog coming soon). However, this post will be focused on the more personal end as I continue my Lyrical Blog series. My poetry can sometimes be explicit by nature (mutiny). Earthling Chant is mostly about finding solace in a technocratic society so I aimed at creating lyrics that would be fun to recite aloud and also offer my gifts to Earth itself as prayer through lyrical homage.

The song is about reflecting on the holy nature of life itself. Like our primitive ancestors once did on dark rainy nights dancing around campfires using the minimal resources available to enjoy life. Or perhaps even in modern times where the homeless camp under the bridge at Sutterville Avenue can pretty much conjure up the same blessings. Either way, one tangible thing that every human being has in common regardless of age, status, or race is the very Earth itself. That is the main reason behind the title. Please take the time to follow the lyrics below as you play Earthling Chant on Spotify.

The beat is produced by Arkatype and though the song was intended to be one of my spiritual takes poetically, I took the time to add in my two cents on today's rap culture. Which, I believe a lot of rap artists sound the same, especially beat or style-wise. For this latter reason, the lyrics that came to bloom were fun to write, especially on an Arkatype instrumental. Gratitude brother

Chorus

Holy Earth Holy Mystery

Wake me up before you put me to sleep

We must eradicate the darkness from the powers that be

Behind every corner there’s a snake waiting to eat

Verse

You catching vapors to the face from your cellular screen

Not even dead presidents can even represent me

I write my own lyrics, hip-hop most definitely

More than a citizen, indisposed employee

More than a middle man I control my destiny

I’ll chop you up like potatoes and fry you in some hot grease

As I sprinkle you with seasoned salt you know I gots to eat

F*** Xanax f*** pills when there’s no time for sleep

I do not mumble when I rap, I’m not spiritually weak

Metaphorically historically I’m Theatre Mutiny

On a diet to riot cause its the truth that I seek

Mentality on fire, I’m lyrical Bruce Lee

Get rid of your desires grab pliers and pull your teeth out

Chemically rewire your styles and be unique child

(F*** a Rothschild)

Metaphysically designed to look past the lies

When your awake there is no time forsaken by sunshine

When your awake there is no time forsaken by sunshine

Chorus

Holy Earth Holy Mystery

Wake me up before you put me to sleep

We must eradicate the darkness from the powers that be

Behind every corner there’s a snake waiting to eat

END

Not all my songs are targeted towards the industry itself as a subject matter but like Earthling Chant; most can be tied to personal beliefs and spirituality especially with me being indigenous Choctaw. When I hear the music on the radio these days I have to remember not everybody will see things the way you and I may see them. And though I have a peculiar taste in certain genres, I still believe in the importance of biodiversity. Plus the industry will always have their priorities ahead of their morals. I'd like to think it would't include everyone in the music industry but for the most part, this seems to be the case. That is simply the nature of how business works in general but is it really?

Regardless of this observation, I will always make music that not only speaks to a universal audience but one that offers more authentic substance to the universe itself. I enjoy letting these thoughts reflect through my artwork. This is the major pro of being an independent artist and having total control of what I release. My mutiny is my art. After all, why be like everyone else? I've learned to embrace the differences.

Earthling Chant is featured on the self-titled LP Theatre Mutiny. Available on compact disc and all major platforms.
